Create your first Session

Head to /sessions/new. There are two steps: Session details, where you hand over the music, and Review, where you confirm it.

Step 1 — Session details

Hand over what you have. Drag it anywhere on the page, or press Choose a file — a bounce, a voice memo, a folder of stems, or a whole DAW project. You are not asked what kind of thing it is first; what you hand over decides how it is read. Stems each land as their own track.

Two starts have no file to read, so they have their own way in under No file — writing or a link?: Lyrics for writing, and Video for a clip or a pasted link, where the audio is extracted for you.

Audio files can be up to 150 MB; source video up to 300 MB. See the walkthrough for what each DAW should hand over, and Upload audio for the rights acknowledgement.

Step 2 — Review

The title, filled in from your filename and editable; the genre, which is how people find it later; and who can reach it. Sessions are public unless you say otherwise — public is what lets anyone hear it and offer to help. Artwork is optional and folded away; the cover editor generates one from your audio's waveform if you want it.

Confirm the rights box, then press Start Session. Your files upload at that point rather than before, so stay on the page until it finishes. Creating the Session and its first official cut (Official v1) happens in one atomic step — if anything fails, nothing half-exists.

Good to know

• Setup keeps a draft as you go, so closing the tab does not lose what you had. It is offered back when you return, and cleared once a Session is created.
• Free accounts can have up to 3 active private Sessions; Pro removes the limit. Public Sessions are unlimited on both.
• Inviting people and setting credits happens inside the Session afterwards, not during setup — nothing stands between you and getting the song up.
